Even as Japanese horror remakes continue to corner the market, here comes Rob Zombie to scare you to death, American-style. Or '70s-style, to be more accurate, since this sequel to Zombie's previous frightfest,
House of 1000 Corpses, harkens back to such disco-decade horror films as
Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The plot takes place in the aftermath of
Corpses' bloodbath, with the murderous group of psychotic rednecks running from the law, killing along the way.
Zombie pulls no punches: Things get ugly, gritty and nasty; there's an unnecessary overuse of blood; and most of the jokes are a cut above the norm. Better than the first one, and twice as nasty, the
Rejects should get the approval of horror fans--or else!
