In the future, rules are still made to be broken, even in movies like this dull
Blade Runner-type flick.
Tim Robbins is a family-man insurance investigator looking into some fraudulent
papeles (which is this movie's jargon for hard-to-come-by visas that allow people to travel). He meets Samantha Morton, and they break Code 46 by getting it on.
Why does that matter? What does that mean? You'll figure it out in, like, two seconds. While the basic premise is somewhat interesting, the future world built here contains so many odd rules and twisted language usage (because it's
the future!) that it's hard to follow or care about it all after a while. Worse yet, the stilted dialogue and Robbins' and Morton's chemistry is as dry as the globally warmed-over setting. Sorry, wrong number.
