Morning Piss: Double Standard of Notoriety

Everywhere you look and listen, those felony assault charges against Chris Brown are for what he "reportedly" did to his estranged GF, Rihanna. Just read E!'s own message boards if you don't believe that most music fans have already tried and convicted the man.
Interesting that similarly horrendous charges (and just as serious, child molestation) against another musical superstar, Michael Jackson, have been swept under that fickle pop-culture carpet. And just when American Idol's resurrecting him, à la Dolly Parton, and the bankrupt nut job's preparing a musical invasion of London this summer.
True, even though a court of law found Jackson not guilty of molestation—only against those accusers—back in 2005, what about the cases settled out of court prior to that? What about Martin Bashir's TV documentary in which Jackson held hands and caressed a little boy he admitted to sleeping next to, among others? Is there a time limit on publicly frying beloved artists for heinous acts?
Sure hope not.
