Morgan Freeman has the world globe in the palm of his hand.
One of America's most celebrated actors is set to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award at next year's 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
It's more hardware to add to that ever-growing mantle.
According to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the folks behind the annual kudoscast, Freeman will be honored for his "outstanding contribution to the entertainment field."
That's largely due to the 74-year-old thesp's amazing four-decade string of starring roles in such memorable flicks as Glory, Lean on Me, Unforgiven, The Shawshank Redemption, Se7en, Bruce Almighty, Million Dollar Baby and Invictus among others.
And of course, Freeman is one of the most sought-after voice actors of his generation, narrating the likes of Ken Burns' The Civil War and films such as War of the Worlds and March of the Penguins just to name a few.
The Oscar winner is no stranger to the Golden Globes, winning Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his performance in 1989's Driving Miss Daisy.
No doubt this latest addition will go nicely with the lifetime achievement award he just received from the American Film Institute.
Past recipients of the DeMille award include Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Warren Beatty and Michael Douglas.
Freeman will pick up his trophy during a tribute to him when the Golden Globes airs live Jan. 15 on NBC from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
