The positively glowing cast of The Help won for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Motion Picture at the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, an eleventh-hour shakeup as the Academy Awards grow ever nearer. (Actors make up the largest voting bloc of the Motion Picture Academy and can swing a tight race.)

Kids say the darndest things...and then the Parents Televsion Council gets involved.
Tonight's episode of Modern Family has drawn the attention of the PTC thanks to Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) shocking her parents when she starts dropping the F-bomb. While creator Steve Levitan told reporters at the Television Critics Association that he's "proud and excited" of the new storyline, the Parents Television Council is not happy (without having seen the episode).
So what does the PTC, and Lily's two on-screen dads, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, have to say about this whole fudge-ing mess?

When it comes to kicking back and watching a little boob tube, it looks like the commander in chief and his brood are pretty much like the rest of us.
During an interview with People, President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, shared their viewing habits and revealed what shows are the first family's faves.

The big screen doesn't get all the glory at this time of year.
Modern Family, Boardwalk Empire and Breaking Bad garnered three nominations apiece heading into the first leg of the 2012 Writers Guild of America Awards—the one that honors achievements in TV, news, radio, promotional writing and graphic animation.
Except for The Good Wife, the Best Drama Series category is an all-cable affair, with the grittiness of Boardwalk and Breaking Bad also going up against Best New Series nominees Homeland and Game of Thrones.
The comedy categories, meanwhile, were a bit more broadcast-friendly...

The Producers Guild of America this morning unveiled the TV series nominees for the 23rd annual PGA Awards, which will be announced Jan 3 and handed out Jan. 21 at a ceremony that will also dole out special honors to producers extraordinaire Steven Spielberg, Leslie Moonves and Stan Lee, among others.
So, which prime-time favorites made the cut?
