Mindy McCready Heads Back Behind Bars

It's time for Mindy McCready to face the music for the...well, we've lost count of which time this is.

The ever-troubled country star is due to surrender to Tennessee authorities Tuesday to begin serving 60 days behind bars for violating probation, yet again, in her 2004 prescription-drug fraud case, her lawyer announced this morning.

"I am working very hard to put all of this behind me as quickly as possible so I can get back to what I like to do most: sing, write songs and entertain," the country twanger said in a statement.

"I would like to thank my fans for their unwavering support as I continue to work on my recovery and to regain custody of my precious son, Zander."

In July, the 32-year-old songbird postponed her hopes for a comeback after overdosing on the sleeping pill Ambien and ingesting vodka, a relapse that led her to a Tennessee emergency room followed by a trip to an Arizona rehab center.

Roger Clemens' former No. 1 fan was previously jailed back in 2007 after violating probation on the same years-old drug charge.

Her attorney says McCready agreed to turn herself in after working out a deal with prosecutors in Williamson County, Tenn.

The singer's 2-year-old son, Zander Ryan, is currently in the care of McCready's mother, Gayle Inge.
