Milla Jovovich: "Shame" on Summit for Failing to Promote The Three Musketeers

One for all and all for...Twilight?

The Three Musketeers star Milla Jovovich is crossing swords with Summit Entertainment on Twitter, accusing the Hollywood company that gave us the teen vampire franchise of failing to support and properly promote her family-friendly remake of the classic Alexandre Dumas tale.

Here's what she had to say.

"I think 'summit' hve swept '3 Musketeers', a grt family adventure film, under the rug in the US. Shame on them. SHAME ON YOU 'SUMMIT'," the very unhappy actress tweeted.

In director Paul W.S. Anderson's new Musketeers, Jovovich plays Milady de Winter opposite a cast that includes Orlando Bloom, Christoph Waltz and Logan Lerrman. Before hitting theaters today, the film was released in parts of Europe and South Korea in September, doing only so-so at the box office compared to its $75 million budget.

But if you ask the thesp, this new version isn't being given the chance it deserves by a production banner that seems to have lost faith, making her feel like they're dumping the picture before it's even out in favor of hyping the next Twilight sequel, Breaking Dawn.

"Are 'summit' promoting it as a family adventure movie? Or are they resting on their laurels from 'twilight' n making no effort? Let me know!" Jovovich asked followers in another tweet.

The Resident Evil fighter has since issued a rallying cry to her fanbase, suggesting they hit up Summit's Twitter feed about the lack of publicity.

"Let them know u & fans are upset that most of their tweets are about Twilight!" she added.

A Summit rep was unavailable for comment. But for its part, at first glance the company does appear to be hyping The Three Musketeers on Twitter about as equally as it has Breaking Dawn and some of its other releases.

"Looking forward to seeing #TheThreeMusketeers tomorrow? Check out the first 5 minutes now!" read one tweet the company issued yesterday, which included a link to a Youtube video presenting the film's opening (see above).

Jovovich is now in Japan making the publicity rounds for the film, which kicks off the Tokyo International Film Festival.
