Miley Cyrus is clearly in the midst of some kind of style makeover. She recently chopped off 5 inches of hair and debuted an edgier and shorter new 'do.

That one we like.

But this one? Hmmm…

Cyrus was spotted yesterday in L.A. on a lunch date with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, and let's just say she wasn't having a good-jeans day.

The 19-year-old pop star stepped out in stonewashed mom jeans that seemed like they accidentally hitched a ride on the time-traveling DeLorean from 1985's Back to the Future. (Quick! Somebody call Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown!)

She paired it with a red plaid sleeveless top, her hair swept up into a high bun.

We gotta give it to the "Party in the U.S.A." starlet: She's definitely gotten our attention lately. Last week, Cyrus made headlines when she celebrated Hemsworth's 22nd birthday by giving him a cake shaped like a penis and then posing very provocatively with it.

X-rated cakes, mom jeans, Miley Cyrus: Never thought we'd ever put those three together in the same sentence!
