Michael Talks--and He's Feeling Good
In his first post-trial interview, Michael Jackson made like James Brown.
"I'm feeling good," the pop star proclaimed.
Speaking with the Associated Press in a phone call monitored by his publicist, Raymone K. Bain, the 47-year-old entertainer said Saturday his five-month child-molestation trial was "the hardest thing I've ever done in my life."
Jackson, who was acquitted on all charges in June, has been laying low in Bahrain since the verdict amid reports that he might move there permanently. While he didn't put a timetable on the length of his stay, he says that he and his brood--Paris, Prince Michael and Prince Michael II (aka Blanket)--are "resting and recovering" in the Middle East country as the guests of Prince Abdulla.
"He's the very best, amazing, so kind," said Jackson of his host.
Asked of his health, Jackson made like the Godfather of Soul to indicate that he has overcome the variety of maladies he publicly struggled with during his trial, including nagging back problems.
Jackson also got in a plug for his new charity song, "From the Bottom of My Heart," which will benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina.
He said he was "moving full speed ahead" on plans to record the track with a group of musical all-stars--including Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, R. Kelly, Wyclef Jean, Lenny Kravitz, Lauryn Hill, James Brown and Snoop Dogg--though there was no word on when the single would be released.
But, Jackson told the wire service, "I'm constantly working on it."
