Michael Sued over Shopping Spree
Apparently, Michael Jackson likes to shop 'til he gets enough, but when it comes to actually paying for his purchases, he's less than enthused.
For the second time this week, the embattled pop star has been hit with a lawsuit over unpaid bills.
This time around, the plaintiff is the owner of a Los Angeles furniture and antiques gallery, who claims Jackson owes close to $180,000 for a variety of items he bought on a shopping spree in May, according to documents posted on The Smoking Gun.
It seems Jackson decided to spruce up his digs by purchasing such necessities as an "Austrian gold-painted dancing girl," a silver bread holder and a pair of malachite urns, but then neglected to foot a good portion of the $378,875 bill.
Other notables listed on the invoice from Jackson's alleged buying binge: a pair of 13-branch malachite candelabras priced at $45,000; a Louis XVI-style clock to the tune of $30,000; and a pair of lapis tables "with bronze woman" for a bargain $23,000.
In recognition of his supposed big spender status, the Mayfair Gallery rewarded Jackson with a $65,000 discount off his total bill, which amounted to $350,000 before taxes, according to the court documents.
To date, Jackson has reportedly shelled out a mere $200,000 of the total purchase price and the owner of the Mayfair Gallery has had enough of the Moonwalker's shady antics.
The gallery filed a nonpayment complaint in Los Angeles on Thursday, just two days after gay-porn producer Marc Schaffel filed suit against Jackson, seeking $3 million in unpaid loans and fees.

In his court filing, Schaffel alleged that Jackson's thirst for expensive items escalated when he was abusing painkillers and alcohol, and called the entertainer a "ticking financial time bomb."
"When Michael would be on drugs, he would call two, three, four in the morning, very distorted," Schaffel said during an appearance on ABC's Good Morning America. "And he would say, 'Oh, can you give me $70,000 tomorrow? There's this table I saw. I gotta have it for my living room.' "
Despite appearances to the contrary, not everyone was out to get Jackson this week.
Teen popster and Jackson pal Aaron Carter, 16, spoke out in defense of the "Beat It" singer after his mother told Access Hollywood she was concerned about what took place during her son's unsupervised overnight visit to Jackson's Neverland Ranch.
"Michael and I have been friends for three years. I went to Neverland for his [45th] birthday bash," Carter told People magazine. "
"We were smashing cake in each other's faces. It was really cool. Until 5 a.m., me, him and Chris Tucker were out on four-wheelers, riding around in the mountains. Nothing happened between me and Michael. We didn't sleep in the same room, we didn't share a bed. We have a normal friendship. There's nothing sexual to it."
Unfortunately for Jackson, questions about his relationship with another young boy likely won't be cleared up as easily.
The self-proclaimed King of Pop is facing trial on 10 felony counts ranging from child molestation to administering alcohol to a minor. He has pleaded innocent across the board and remains free on $3 million bail. He is due back in court on Jan. 31.
