Marriage Killer: Dexter Costars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter Divorcing

Michael C. Hall's marriage is six feet under.

"Having been separated for some time," the Dexter star and wife Jennifer Carpenter are divorcing after less than two years of marriage, according to a joint statement from the actors' reps to EW.com.

Seems like that could make for some uncomfortable moments around the craft services table, considering Carpenter plays Dexter Morgan's unwitting sister, Debra.

But according to their reps, their separation has been amicable. They didn't have kids, so there's no custody battle to not look forward to.

Hall, who was married once before, met Carpenter on the Dexter set. They tied the knot on New Year's Eve in 2008.

Regarding their separation, it's unclear how long "some time" is. Carpenter, who stuck with Hall as he successfully underwent treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma toward the end of 2009, at least looked as happily married as ever on the Emmys red carpet in August.

Hall won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV Drama in January.

According to Access Hollywood, which first reported the split, Carpenter attended the Dexter season-five finale party Sunday night in Manhattan, but Hall did not. The critically acclaimed series has been picked up for a sixth season.
