Tori Spelling: Splitsville, 90210
Beverly Hills, 90210 grad Tori Spelling has exiled her husband to another ZIP code.
A publicist for the actress confirmed Friday that Spelling and Charlie Shanian have separated after a year of marriage.
"The couple have been living apart since the beginning of August," the rep said. No further details were released and there was no immediate word if or when a divorce petition would be filed.
It was the first marriage for both.
Spelling, 32, and Shanian, 36, an actor and writer, wed July 3, 2004. It was a lavish ceremony overseen by her father, TV mogul Aaron Spelling, who hosted the wedding at his sprawling estate in the ritzy enclave of Holmby Hills, and attended by some 400 guests, including enough old-timers to make up a Love Boat special: Paul Anka, Jackie Collins, Bob Newhart, Don Rickles, Stefanie Powers, Ed McMahon, Suzanne Pleshette with husband Tom Poston and Motown mastermind Berry Gordy.
Many of Tori's old Peach Pit pals were also on hand, including Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering and Tiffani Thiessen.
Spelling and Shanian first met three years ago while the pair costarred in the Los Angeles production of his two-person play, Maybe, Baby It's You. The couple got engaged in November 2003 and registered at Williams-Sonoma immediately thereafter (where the bride asked for an automatic espresso machine worth $1,800).
Shortly before they got hitched, Spelling told USA Today she knew her fiancé was "the one" because "he waited for me."
Shanian most recently appeared as a semi-regular on ABC's cop show 10-8: Officers on Duty, which lasted 13 episodes in the 2003-04 season.
Since moving out of 90210, Spelling appeared in such films as The House of Yes, Trick, Scream 2 and Scary Movie 2, did a sitcom pilot that never made it to series, and has starred in several TV movies, including two due out this year: Hush and The Family Plan.
