Paris Update: Let's Go to the Mall!

Call it retail therapy.
Paris Hilton and her mom, Kathy, faced the paparazzi during a Saturday afternoon shopping trip to the Francis Orr stationery and gift shop in Beverly Hills. But that wasn't the only shopping Hilton did this weekend.
One of my sources spotted the Simple Life star and her sister (seen above during happier, presentencing times) on Saturday night at the Grove. "She's at Nordstrom trying on sunglasses," I was told in an email around 8 p.m. "She's with Nicky. They're both in short dresses and three-inch heels. Paris is in all white, and her hair is back in a braid."
But it's not like Hilton is in denial about life in the clink. "The hardest part is that she will be alone, and that will be tough for someone like her," a source close to Hilton told me. "No parties, sleeping in or staying up all hours—she will be on the jail schedule and not her own."
While Hilton had apparently told friends and family shortly after the sentencing that she had planned on spending the weekend behind closed doors at her house or her family's estate, she decided to do some shopping and "carry on as usual," my source says.
I'm also told the Hilton camp had hoped the judge would have sentenced her to some sort of house arrest, in which she would have worn an ankle monitoring bracelet.
For now, her legal team is putting together her appeal. "They are working around the clock," my source says.
