The other day we got quite a look—and listen!—to Michelle Williams dancing and singing as Marilyn Monroe.

Fans of Ms. Williams know this is a first for the Oscar-nominated actress.

"Nobody's seen me sing and dance," Williams told us yesterday at the AFI Fest presented by Audi premiere of My Week With Marilyn. "You haven't been in my shower."

We certainly haven't!

"I didn't know she was a brilliant singer," My Week director Simon Curtis raved. "That was a happy surprise. She turned out to be the most brilliant singer as well as the most brilliant actress."

The pic centers on one week in 1956 when one of Sir Laurence Olivier's assistants Colin Clark was in charge of taking care of Monroe while she was in England filming The Prince and the Showgirl.

While costar Dominic Copper makes no claims of being able to talk with the dead, he does think Monroe would approve of the flick. "I think it's a fair representation," he said. "You have compassion and you understand why [Monroe's life] was such a nightmare."
