We hear that's what celebs like Katie Holmes and Miley Cyrus were doing last night in Beverly Hills at one of the week's most exclusive pre-Emmy parties. And we're not talking about salads and Diet Cokes, but rather…
The A-List crowd at CAA's annual shindig indulged in some yummy baked goods at Bouchoun Bistro. A partygoer tells me that a solo Holmes (no Tom Cruise in sight) enjoyed macaroons and her favorite Bouchoun dish, Croque Madame. She also chatted with the eatery's world-renowned chef Thomas Keller.
Like Holmes, Cyrus didn't have her man, Hunger Games hottie Liam Hemsworth, by her side. Instead, she hit the party with mom Tish. E!'s own Ryan Seacrest and his Footloose girlfriend Julianne Hough sat at a candlelit balcony table for two. "Minnie Driver and Olivia Munn were baking bread in the pastry kitchen," our source says.
Rounding out the guest list were Jamie Foxx, Jeremy Piven, Dave Annable, Odette Yustman and Top Chef'sTom Colicchio.
Not too far away in West Hollywood, Entertainment Weekly and Women in Film threw their annual pre-Emmy bash at Boa Steakhouse. The place was packed with bold-faced names like Sofia Vergara, Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Zachary Quinto, Julie Benz, a still-mohawked Mark Salling, Jenna Ushkowitz, Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, Kathy Griffin, Denis O'Hare, Thomas Gibson, Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, among so many others. David Arquette and his Dancing With the Stars partner Kym Johnson welcomed the break from practicing for Monday night's season premiere. "We've been rehearsing all day, but we'll back at eight o'clock tomorrow morning," Johnson said. "It's a nice little break, though, to get out and just have some downtime."
Their first dance is a Viennese Waltz. "I'm going to have tails on and be a gentleman," Arquette said. "I'm nervous, but excited." Johnson said of the Scream star, "He's so great. He has great rhythm. He's very graceful. I think a lot of people have no idea."
Joe Manganiello was supposed to be at EW/WIF, but he was a no-show. However, the rumored-to-be-newly-single True Blood stud was spotted earlier today at the HBO Luxury Lounge and L'Oreal Paris Beauty Suite.
