Jon Hamm Helps Honor Mad Men Boss at Pre-Emmy Party

The Emmys are officially upon us!

The last few nights have been jam-packed with parties all over Hollywood toasting the upcoming awards show. So who did we spy out and about and what were they doing?

We've got the VIP deets on Jon Hamm, Julie Bowen, Melissa McCarthy and many more.

Emmy Rossum, along with her Shameless costars, including William H. Macy, hosted L.A. Confidential's pre-Emmy party last night at the West Hollywood London hotel, where Jessica Lowndes and Melissa Joan Hart mingled with friends while Elijah Wood deejayed the event.

Macy told us how excited he is for this year's Emmy host, Jane Lynch. "She's going to be hysterical!" he gushed, adding that he wasn't always a big Glee fan. "I was one of the people that was dragged kicking and screaming to Glee. It did not tickle my funny bone at first and not I'm an ardent fan."

Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy agrees about lovin' Lynch. "She's just bionically funny," she told us at Audi's pre-Emmy part at Cecconi's in West Hollywood. "My fear is that there's just going to be a lot of shots of me laughing—hard!"

Other stars who hit up the Audi bash included Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen (she told us she wants costar and nomination competition Sofia Vergara to win Supporting Actress in a Comedy) as well as The Help's Octavia Spencer, Dana Delaney and Lynch with wife Lara Embry.

Meanwhile, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences threw several get-togethers, including the Producer's Peer Group event at the SLS hotel (Jon Hamm was on hand to honor folks like his own Mad Men head honcho Matthew Weiner) and the Writer Peer Group cocktail party hosted by Kate Flannery, with guests including Elisabeth Moss, Matt LeBlanc and Tony Shaloub.

Stars like Jennifer Love Hewitt, Aaron Paul, Cheryl Hines and Melissa Leo got there swag on at Kari Feinstein's Style Lounge at West Hollywood's Mondrian Hotel, where they picked up gifts like Silpada jewelry, clothing by Commonwealth Proper and workout gear from Cycle House.
