Who could ever replace Tom Cruise?

Jeremy Renner, of course!

The Hurt Locker star is said to be in line to take over the Mission: Impossible franchise if and when Mr. Cruise decides to bow out as superstealth agent Ethan Hunt.

So what does Cruise's Mission: Impossible III costar Michelle Monaghan think about Renner possibly taking over?

"I think he'd be fine to take over anything!" she told us at the Hollywood premiere of Source Code when asked about the replacement rumors.

The fourth Mission movie, titled Ghost Protocol, will feature franchise freshman Renner as Cruise's protégé. Although Monaghan will not be reprising her M:I3 role in the upcoming action flick, she's still excited for the film.

"I'm always excited when I see Tom!" she gushed. "He was a friend of mine who's an amazing actor. This [film] won't be short of great action and great surprises."

Monaghan also echoed her Source Code costar Jake Gyllenhaal's sentiments about getting motion sickness while filming most of the their new sci-fi thriller on a moving train.

"We'd get off the train and we'd be watching playbacks, like, holding on to each other," she said. "But he's not a bad guy to learn on, you know what I mean? Maybe I played a little bit sicker than I actually was."

After the film's screening, Monaghan and Gyllenhaal mingled with other castmembers, including Vera Farmiga, at the premiere afterparty at Hollywood hot spot Boulevard3, where guests were treated to the only thing sweeter than Jake Gyllenhaal himself, Sprinkles cupcakes.
