Jacko Plays the Blame Game, Lindsay's Easy, Rihanna's Spicy

It looks like Michael Jackson is telling the World Music Awards to beat it. I hear the King of Pop is not happy about his appearance and performance at yesterday's awards show in London. Jackson not only received the Diamond Award for selling more than 100 million albums, he also performed—well, at least he tried to perform—"We Are the World" at the end of the star-studded event.
Jackson is being widely criticized for delivering what has been described as an incoherent, mumbly acceptance speech. He insists it didn't go so well because the "TelePrompTer didn't work," a source tells me.
The "We Are the World" finale also appeared to be a fiasco. After a few minutes of singing, Jackson's audio was cut. Why? My source says the stage crew had no choice but to shut down the production, because union rules forbid them to work past 11 p.m. Jackson blames producers—he says it's their fault the show ran late.
"Michael was really pissed," an insider reports. "It was one of the worst things ever. Artists were pissed. Labels were pissed. Everyone! This will never air in the U.S."
Despite the bad news, the night wasn't a total disaster. I hear host Lindsay Lohan was a pleasure to work with. The 20-year-old's dressing room demands were shockingly simple. All she asked for were two bottles of champagne and a variety of snacks, beer and water. She didn't even specify brands. Organizers, according to my source, supplied her with Veuve Clicquot bubbly, a smorgasbord of fruits, chips and pretzels, a spread from the night's caterer, Nobu, and some Jo Malone candles. "She was great," the source says. "She came, did her job and was no trouble at all."
As for Michael, backstage sounded a lot better for him than onstage. He and his entourage, which included two of his three children, were kept away from the masses in a mini-compound that included three dressing rooms. "It was built just for him for the night," my source says. "He asked for pizza, chicken, fruit and Cokes. Most of it was really healthy stuff." One special request for the kids was buffalo wings.
Rising pop princess Rihanna proved to be pretty easy, too. Her only big must-have was Caribbean food. "She likes it spicy," the source says. "She likes eating those dishes every day."
Rihanna and Beyoncé also put to rest any reports that they're feuding. Beyoncé's boyfriend, Jay-Z, has been plagued by rumors that he cheated on his Dreamgirl with Rihanna. "Rihanna and Beyoncé were chatting backstage," my source says. "They couldn't have been friendlier. Rihanna just doesn't understand where those rumors came from."
