A Hilton Reservation with Walters?

Rosie O'Donnell may be gone from The View, but Barbara Walters may have another trick up her sleeve to keep those ratings high.
Paris Hilton!
Well, sorta.
I’m told Walters has been working overtime trying to secure the first and only sit-down with the hotel heiress’ mom, Kathy. Sources tell me that Walters started making her case even before anyone knew whether Paris was even going to have to do time behind bars. “Barbara was one of the first people to call Kathy when Paris was sentenced,” one source says.
A few days later, Kathy released an exclusive statement about her daughter's ordeal to Walters, who read the missive on The View. No surprise, but the Hilton controversy has been a consistent topic of discussion on the chat show.
Walters is no stranger to the Hiltons. Not only do they run in the same socialite crowd in NYC, but Walters named Paris one of the most fascinating people of the year in her annual television special in 2004. Others on the list that year included Donald Trump, Mel Gibson, Oprah Winfrey, filmmaker Michael Moore and Jeopardy champ Ken Jennings.
Walters’ rep declined to comment.
