Harry Connick Jr. for mayor?
Don't be surprised if Connick decides one day to enter electoral politics. "After Katrina, I wanted to run for mayor," Connick said Tuesday in NYC, where he was being honored at Redbook magazine's 2006 Strength & Spirit Awards luncheon, according to a pal who was there. "But my manager told me I was too stupid."Come on. We know he's not stupid, and mounting a campaign in Cajun Country wouldn't be such a stretch. He's not only been deemed the city’s unofficial mayor, but his dad served as District Attorney of Orleans Parish for 29 years before retiring just three years ago, and his late mom was a Louisiana Supreme Court justice. So, just to be sure there wasn't any truth in his words, I put in a call to his publicist. "He was totally kidding," she told me. "He was joking. He also said that [his wife] Jill is a beard and that he is gay."
Guess that gig on Will & Grace made you so dirty, Harry!
