Cory Monteith wants to rock—and not just on Glee.

Mr. Monteith was showing off his rock star ways the other night in Hollywood.

Monteith's band Bonnie Dune performed before a crowded house at famed club The Roxy Sunday night. The 29-year-old actor, who was wearing a black T-shirt and jeans, played the drums and also provided vocals for their 45-minute, 11-song set.

Monteith announced, "We've been in the studio recording another EP, which we're really excited for you guys to hear."

The night before, his Glee castmate Idina Menzel made her debut at the Greek Theatre in L.A. Her singing was ridiculously fantastic, plus she proved to be quite the funnylady. She was both self-deprecating and an awesome storyteller.

The Tony Award winner remembered being told that she and Lea Michele would be performing "Poker Face" on Glee. "I'm like, a mother and daughter reunion and 'Poker Face?'" Menzel said. "I never ever really thought of the song that way. I had heard it a couple of times and there were some weird lyrics in it about baked goods. I didn't know how it would pertain to [the reunion]."

After some more playful riffing about the hit Fox series, Menzel announced, "I think Ryan Murphy's here tonight. I'm going to get fired."

Also in the audience were hubby Taye Diggs and his Private Practice costar Tim Daly, as well as Glee's Dot Marie Jones.

Meanwhile, Darren Criss was recently honored at Variety's Power of Youth event in L.A. where he dished about Chord Overstreet's return to the Glee.

"The thing I keep saying about that is, Chord is a friend of mine and I'd be happy to see him," he said. "He'd be welcomed with open arms."
