Gilles Marini Checks Into Hospital for Surgery

UPDATE: Gilles is off the operating-room table and on to recovery. "I am out now," he just said in an email. "Shoot, it hurts. LOL. It's the post-Cheryl Burke treatment. LOL."

Marini checked into a hospital this morning to undergo surgery to treat a shoulder injury related to work on Dancing With the Stars.
"On my way to the hospital," the Sex and the City stud tweeted at about 9 a.m. PST. "I am relaxed and hope that all will be fine. It's my number 15 when it comes to surgery. Love G."
Shortly after DWTS began, Gilles suffered a separated shoulder. He declined to go under the knife right away, because he did not want to drop out of the competition.
"Because I am not dancing anymore, it feels fine," he told me after the final performance show in mid-May. "But I need to schedule [the surgery], because the recovery time is about three weeks, and I don't want to spend too much time doing nothing."
