Elton and Furnish are making their way around the room, personally thanking everyone.

Chris O'Donnell is sitting at a table with Naomi Campbell, who is typing away on her phone. She doesn't look too happy, but Elton shouldn't take it personally. She was expecting to hit the bash with her new boyfriend, 2005 Oscar nom Terrence Howard, but unfortunately, Howard was a last-minute no-show, because, I hear, he had a family emergency.

Natalie Cole is sitting at a table with Tim Allen. Suddenly, a man at an adjacent table falls over in his seat. Cole turns around and without missing a beat says, "What are you drinking tonight? Because I don't want any."

ICM honcho-manager Ed Limato is chatting with Bai Ling. Maybe his client Mel Gibson has a part for her in his next flick.

Okay, I am booking my way across the room: Jennifer Hudson is accepting her Oscar, and guess who I'm looking at? Simon Cowell, whose eyes are glued to one of the eight monitors hanging from the ceiling.

Yes, for once, loudmouth Mr. Cowell is speechless!
