PETA
PETA isn't exactly going after the younger generation this Halloween. Unlike past campaigns with
Pam Anderson and
Charlize Theron, my animal-lovin' pals have enlisted the help of horror-movie maven
Karen Black for its latest trick-or-treat campaign. Yes, that's the 67-year-old actress in a new PETA ad, reclining oh so seductively against a gravestone that reads—of course!—"I Wouldn't Be Caught Dead in Fur." Turns out Black, who first made a name for herself way back in the late '60s and early '70s when she appeared alongside
Jack Nicholson in
Easy Rider and
Five Easy Pieces, has been a longtime animal rights supporter. Next year? How about
Sissy Spacek hanging with a couple of hogs. Possible tag: "I Wouldn't Be Caught Dead in Pig's Blood."
