Marc Anthony Needs to Go...to Court
Anthony has been ordered to answer the accusations made by Leo Fernandez III, a television personality who appears on a local tabloid show. Fernandez sued the singer, alleging Anthony got violent during a July press conference when Fernandez asked Anthony if his wife, former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, was pregnant.
Fernandez is seeking unspecified damages for the alleged attack.
The 31-year-old singer, who has denied striking Fernandez, refused to confirm rumors of Torres' pregnancy while he was in Puerto Rico over the summer. It was only a few weeks after, during a concert, that he announced they were expecting a child in the spring.
However, it was reported in September, that Torres was suffering from complications, forcing Anthony to cancel some appearances. The couple has declined further comment on the pregnancy.
Anthony, who scored three American Music Awards nominations this week, and Torres married in Las Vegas in May.
The salsa-singing Anthony, who was a huge recording force in Latin America before releasing his first English-language album last year, scored a monster hit with the inescapable single "I Need to Know."
