Madonna's Paparazzi Face-off

We know people have a lot of questions about the Madonna adoption, but we never thought they'd resort to violence to get answers.

Well, don't worry, they haven't. But the "Live to Tell" singer did suffer a bruise on her cheek during a run-in with paparazzi over the weekend at Heathrow Airport, People magazine reported Tuesday.

Madonna was carrying her adoptive son, David, when a pack of photographers, on-site to greet her plane from New York, gathered round.

"When she landed in London, there was a lot of pushing and shoving," a source close to Madonna told People. "She was jostled around. She got hit in the paparazzi's commotion...Thank God the baby is okay."

The U.K. resident was in New York promoting her latest children's book, Too Good to Be True, and her upcoming Nov. 22 concert special on NBC, Madonna: The Confessions Tour Live from London

The pop star also took time out for multiple interviews, sitting down last week with Meredith Vieira from the Today show and with Time magazine. During both chats she castigated the media for turning the mole hill that was her decision to adopt into a mountain.

Since starting adoption proceedings, Madonna has been accused of everything from waging a publicity stunt to snatching a little boy away from his rightful guardian to using her fame to cut through government red tape.

"When you throw in things like I'm a celebrity and I somehow got special treatment, or make the implication of kidnapping, it gets mixed into a stew and it sells lots of papers," the Material Mom says in Time's Nov. 13 issue.

Madonna and hubby Guy Ritchie brought 13-month-old David Banda to live with them and their two children in London last month after a relatively short waiting period in Malawi, during which the couple were granted an interim adoption.
