Macca Mash: Settlement "Only" $50 Million

London's Sunday Mirror reports that the divorce settlement between Paul McCartney and Heather Mills McCartney will be far less than the $100 million-plus figure that has previously been floated in news reports.
The tabloid story, picked up by Fox, the New York Daily News and other outlets, says Mills will receive $50 million-$60 million in a ruling expected Monday. In a curious wrinkle, Mills, who had earlier pushed for full disclosure of all the trial details, now seems to have changed her tune.
According to a "well-placed insider" the paper reports that "Heather is having second thoughts on the important issue of confidentiality. She has been striving all along for everything to be as public as possible and for her to be allowed to talk openly after the divorce about her marriage if she needed to."
The insider goes on to suggest that, she has "changed her view in the belief that the judge's written decision may be unfavorable to her."
Pardon us for parsing here, but we're gonna go on the record and say the $50 million is still plenty favorable.
