Beat Ben @ the Box Office: Monster Cash?

Beowulf Paramount Pictures and Shangri-la Entertainment

If you loved 300, then get ready to have your head smashed to bits, because Beowulf is sorta like 300...on steroids! Seeing this all-computer animated action film in 3-D is truly an inspirational experience, too, providing a glimpse into the true future of moviemaking.

Based on the ancient poem, Beowulf is the story of a warrior who challenges the monsters and dragons that terrorize the land. While it won't open as big as 300 did (more than $70 million opening weekend), I do see the film having legs at the box office, as positive word of mouth will help carry Beowulf, Hrothgar and Grendel through the holidays.

My Call:  Look for Beowulf to open at just under $25 million. Let's say, $24.8 million.

Here's Why:  That's strong for a movie with Ray Winstone, John Malkovich and Sir Anthony Hopkins. Oh, I forgot to mention. Angelina Jolie is naked her entire time onscreen.

Your Turn:  So, what are you waiting for? Get in this fight!
