Lost star arrested on charges of driving under the influence in early morning bust in Honolulu

It seems there really may be something in the water over on the Lost set: Alcohol.

Daniel Dae Kim says he is "deeply ashamed and embarrassed" after becoming  the third castmember to get busted on suspicion of driving under the influence, following his arrest in Honolulu just after 3 a.m. Thursday.

Honolulu police confirm to E! News that the 39-year-old was stopped by police after being spotted driving erratically. He registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.168, twice the legal limit.

Kim, who plays Jin-Soo Kwon on the ABC hit, was booked at the downtown station and  released at 5:05 a.m. after posting an unspecified bail. Kim is due to appear in Oahu District Court on Nov. 23.

The actor was spotted by reporters wearing a polo shirt, khaki shorts and longer than normal hair when he left the station. He kept his head down and stayed mum, escorted out of the building by two officers into the passenger's side of a waiting SUV.

On Friday, Kim issued a public mea culpa and vowed to "cooperate fully" with the authorities.

"I am deeply ashamed and embarrassed by the events of Thursday morning. It saddens me to know that I jeopardized the welfare of the kind people of Hawaii, a community that I love and call my home. It is my intention to cooperate fully with the police and I am grateful to them for their sensitivity throughout this matter," he said in a statement issued by publicist Cindy Guagenti.

"To my friends, family, colleagues and fans, thank you for your kind words of support. To those I have disappointed, I can only ask that you accept my heartfelt apologies."

There was no immediate comment from ABC or show producers.

Kim's early morning bust is the third such indiscretion for the Lost cast and one of several other driving-related mishaps. And if history is any indication of how the show's rap-sheeted actors are dealt with, Jin may want to watch his back come season four.

In December 2005, the Hawaii Five-O snagged a twofer, busting then Losties Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros on separate DUIs on the same highway within 15 minutes of each other. Both pleaded guilty to charges of driving under the influence, with Rodriguez even serving a brief jail stint for the offense. Both actresses met their demise by season's end.

Less than a year later, in September 2006, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was arrested on charges of driving without a license and disobeying an officer. The former charge was eventually dismissed. But soon after, his character, Mr. Eko, found himself on the losing end of a battle with the show's smoke monster.

Not all Lost cast troubles have to do with transgressions, however. In 2005, Josh Holloway and his wife were robbed at gunpoint in their Honolulu home. Last December, Evangeline Lilly's rented Kailua abode was destroyed in an electrical fire. They both remain on the show.
