Lindsay Lohan's Lawyer Defends Her "F--k U" Fingernail, Then Quits

Lindsay Lohan's lawyer stepped up to defend her client's stealth F-bomb—and then abruptly stepped down altogether.

"The fact is, the words could barely be seen by the naked eye," Shawn Chapman Holley said in a statement ths morning, just before she resigned from the case.

"That a courtroom camera, purportedly there to accurately chronicle the proceedings, would use a telephoto lens to zoom in as it did to Ms. Lohan's fingernail is a commentary on the entire issue."

In other words, it's wrong of us mean media peeps to criticize Lohan for that bleep-worthy manicure. Oh, and Holley also thinks Lohan's 90-day prison sentence was wrong, too...

"Ms. Lohan and I are extremely disappointed in the sentence handed down by Judge Revel," Holley says. "We believe that the penalty is far harsher than what others would have recieved under the circumstances.

"The reality is that Ms. Lohan, like most defendants, had to balance work commitments with court requirements."

Work commitments like jetting off to Cannes with a court date looming, attending the MTV Movie Awards and afterparties and continually clubbing even after being fitted for her SCRAM device, right?

Holley continues: "To be punished so severely for doing so, particularly in light of the fact that she substantially complied with each of her probationary conditions, is harsh and unfair."

Funny, because "not fair" is exactly what Dina Lohan claimed the sentence was.

Fair or not, Holley said Lindsay will suck it up.

"That said, Ms. Lohan is prepared to serve her jail time and to comply with the Court's orders," she concludes.

Or will she?

According to TMZ, Lohan plans to appeal the ruling with the help of her new lawyer, Tiffany Feder-Cohen.

When reached by phone, Feder-Cohen's office declined to comment on whether they're representing LiLo.

Good luck with that!
