Lindsay Lohan's Blood Work

For Lindsay Lohan, paying her debt to society involves blood, if not sweat and tears.

The 21-year-old actress was spotted at an American Red Cross services facility near Los Angeles Monday, where she is to perform community service as part of the plea deal for her two DUI convictions.

Lohan arrived at the center around noon and was greeted by staff members in the parking lot. She departed around 7 p.m. with a book aptly titled Blood tucked under her arm.

Though she was sentenced to the mandatory minimum of four days in jail following her second DUI conviction, prosecutors agreed to allow the troubled star to serve 10 days of community service in lieu of two days behind bars.

She also received credit for one day served in the wake of her July arrest, which leaves her with 24 hours to go. She must turn herself in by January to complete her sentence.

Lohan was also sentenced three years' probation and must complete an 18-month alcohol education program.

The actress recently returned to Los Angeles after an extended stint at the Cirque Lodge in Utah.

Since making her reappearance, she has been immersed in filming her next project, the tango-focused Dare to Love Me.
