In a sitdown this morning with Matt Lauer, Dina (once again) claimed Lindsay was a "different person" after the World's Greatest Mom visited the Betty Ford Center herself for a two-week stay designed for relatives of addicts.
"How is she doing?" Lauer asked off the bat.
"It is life-changing," Dina replied. "The Betty Ford Center is an amazing place. I spent two weeks there in family sessions, you spend time with families of addiction. They're helping the families dealing with the problem."
As for Lindsay's current state of mind, Dina claims she's "happy and relaxed" and has "really changed."
"She's just a different person," Dina said.
Hmmm...
"She's been in a couple of facilities, but this one, to me, has really changed her. They get into your psyche, and the family and they bring the problem to the surface and it's difficult for admission, Lindsay being so public, and for her to Twitter, 'I have a problem, I messed up.' We're hoping it'll help other famililies."
Lauer, who interviewed Dina over the summer regarding Linday's drug troubles, heard similar tales then, too.
"Has she changed?" Lauer asked in August.
"Yes, yes, she's grown up considerably. Age, living life and growing up," said Dina.
A month later Lindsay failed a drug test that showed she had used cocaine. A judge tossed her into jail, followed by rehab.
But this time, Dina insists that Lindsay knows and accepts that she's an addict.
"Does Lindsay fully get that [she's an addict]?" asked Lauer.
"Yes. And this teaches you that you are, and she's young," said Dina. "We take it one day at a time, addiction is difficult," Dina explained. "I don't know, I don't have a crystal ball. I pray hard. She wants to start her own facilities and help other children. We can only look to the future."
Is Dina herself comfortable with the concept that her daughter is an addict?
"Yes," she said. "When I first came here that was for Lindsay to admit, I put her in rehab when she was 19. As a mother it wasn't for me to come and tell the world about her problem. That was for her to do. I wasn't in denial. It was for her to come to her own evolution. You protect as a parent. Now I'm happy and relieved myself."
And really, is this time really, truly going to be different?
E! News has learned that late last week Lindsay moved into a transitional home in Rancho Mirage, Calif., associated with Betty Ford. She will likely stay there until Jan. 3, when her court-mandated treatment comes to an end.
A source confirms that as part of her ongoing therapy, with the encouragement of her therapist, estranged dad Michael is now back in her life and that he had a visit with her Sunday.
There were several conditions on Michael being allowed to have contact with her, including his public statement to never talk to the media again about her.
Dina's is even encouraging the father-daughter relationship this time around.
"It's all about Lindsay and her healing. Whatever will make her heal and better," she said.
