Lenny Kravitz, Mos Def and John Legend took to the stage in New Orleans on Sunday to help out the Gulf Coast.

The pop stars, along with local legends like Dr. John, Allen Toussaint and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, headlined the Gulf Aid benefit concert in the hurricane-ravaged city to help raise funds for relief efforts geared towards the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Since the spill began April 20 after an explosion 50 miles off of the Louisiana coast, at least 4 million gallons have spilled, according to news reports.

Tickets to the concert were sold at $50 a pop, with proceeds benefiting the Gulf Relief Foundation, which aids fishermen and their families whose survival depends on the Gulf.

Rock star Kravitz, who owns a home in the city's historic French Quarter, was among the first to sign on to participate in the concert, according to the Los Angeles Times.
