LeBlanc and Wife Expecting
Joey Tribbiani's alter ego is auditioning for a new role: proud papa.
Matt LeBlanc and new wife Melissa are expecting their first child together, the Friends star's publicist, Joe Libonati, confirmed to E! Online Monday.
According to the rep, the bambino is due in mid-March. No word yet whether it's a boy or a girl.
This will be the first bundle of joy for LeBlanc and the third for McKnight, a former model who has two children from a previous relationship.
The stork news broke Thursday, when Jay Leno announced LeBlanc's impending fatherhood during his Tonight Show monologue--even though LeBlanc was not a guest that evening. (We assume they're good friends.)
LeBlanc has been on quite a roll of late.
Not only did the actor tie the knot in May with the former Melissa McKnight, but he's up for an Emmy this month for playing dim-bulb Joey. And, as Friends heads into its 10th and final season, LeBlanc has also scored a sweetheart deal from Warner Bros. for a Friends spinoff, along with starring roles in two upcoming Warner Bros. movies.
The new show, Joey, finds the lovable lug moving to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. It's expected to debut in Friends' vacated "Must See" 8 p.m. Thursday time slot starting in fall 2004.
Friends' swan-song season begins September 25.
