"King" James Marries
It was a wedding fit for a king.
King of Queens overlord Kevin James has himself a new missus after swapping vows with fiancée Steffiana De La Cruz Saturday in Southern California.
James' publicist confirmed the nuptial news on Monday, but declined to release further details.
But, according to Extra, the happy couple exchanged "I dos" at the St. Edward Catholic Church in Dana Point, California before some 200 family and friends, including James longtime cohort in comedy, Ray Romano. King of Queens costar Jerry Stiller was also in attendance, as was CBS chieftain Les Moonves.
The reception reportedly took place at the swanky Montage Resort and Spa in nearby Laguna Beach. There, they reportedly sampled sumptuous appetizers in a garden with an ocean vista before retreating to a ballroom for dinner and dancing.
This is the first marriage for James. The 39-year-old funnyguy was set up with his bride-to-be on a blind date arranged by James' interior decorator. The twosome have been inseparable ever since and James announced their engagement last September on Live with Regis & Kelly.
James' betrothal comes just days after his onscreen wife, Leah Remini, gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Sofia Bella.
James, who actually hails not from Queens but from Stony Brook, New York, first gained fame on the stand-up circuit, leading to appearances on Star Search and The Tonight Show. Fellow comedy clubber Romano gave James a recurring role on Everybody Loves Raymond, which he parlayed into his own CBS sitcom.
King of Queens recently wrapped its sixth season and will begin shooting its seventh season in August.
As for the new missus, De La Cruz is a model and actress who appeared in the syndicated cop drama Pacific Blue and had small roles in the low-budget horror film Soulkeeper, the straight-to-video action flick Redemption and the TV movie Something to Sing About.
