Soon you'll be able to. I'm told Mattel will launch Simmons' own Barbie in September.
I hear the doll will be dressed in outfits inspired by KLS, Simmons' high-end clothing line. "It will not be Baby Phat," says a source, referring to the popular hip-hop clothing line Simmons owns with her estranged hubby, Russell Simmons.
Simmons was on hand Friday in Los Angeles to celebrate KLS with a dinner, fashion show and after-party at Social Hollywood. Her new man, Djimon Honsou, was by her side. You might remember that I broke the story about Simmons and Honsou starting to date about a month ago, when the two met at an Oscar party .
"They're going strong," a pal of the couple tells me.
Not so strong was Tyra Banks' celebrity power at the after-party. I'm told that the VIP area was so overcrowded that even Banks was turned away when she first showed up. However, later on, the Top Model diva managed to get past the burly security guard.
Also there were Queen Latifah, Gabrielle Union, Tisha Campbell, Brian McKnight, Sanaa Lathan and Ray J's sex tape costar, Kim Kardashian.
