Kid Rock Slams Steven Tyler, Calls Idol "Stupidest Thing He's Ever Done"

Guess this means we shouldn't expect to see Kid Rock turn up as a mentor on this season of American Idol. Or open up for Aerosmith on their next inevitable tour. Or ask Steven Tyler for professional advice.
The Detroit rocker gave voice—rude, disrespectful, not-his-place voice, but voice nonetheless—to something plenty of fans have no doubt been thinking ever since the lippy frontman was announced as one of the new judges on American Idol:

"I think it's the stupidest thing he's ever done in his life," Kid told Entertainment Weekly.
Bear in mind, this is coming from someone who appeared in Joe Dirt, so presumably he knows of what he speaks.
"He's a sacred American institution of rock 'n' roll, and he just threw it all out the window. Just stomped on it and set in on fire."
Well, don't hold back on our account.
"I think whoever's advising him, we should bring back the guillotine, or whatever they call that thing," the rocker-rapper, who's clearly come a long way from 1999, when he and Tyler performed together at the MTV Video Music Awards, went on.
"And if it was himself, he needs some serious counseling. I love him to death, but I gotta speak the truth."
If that's how he talks about someone he loves, we'd hate to make his enemies list. Tyler has yet to sink to his level issue a rebuttal.
