Kate Walsh Bags a McFiancé
Kate Walsh has found her real life McDreamy—and in record time, it seems.
Just a day after the Grey's Anatomy star got word that her spinoff, Private Practice, was picked up by ABC, the actress' rep confirmed to E! News that the actress has gotten engaged to her boyfriend of just a few months, 20th Century Fox exec Alex Young.
So, all in all, not a bad week to be Kate Walsh.
The 39-year-old actress confirmed the news while attending the network's upfront parties in New York Tuesday night, saying that her 36-year-old beau popped the question during a trip to San Francisco last week.
Walsh, whose ring finger is newly adorned with a Neil Lane Jubilee-cut diamond, told People that Young, the copresident of production at the Fox studio, is "the most amazing man I ever met."
She added that no vow-swap date has yet been set, but that the couple is already "in the process of planning the wedding."
If the trajectory of their relationship is any indication, the wedding may happen sooner rather than later.
The couple was first spotted dining à deux at Los Angeles' Mustard Seed Café Apr. 26. Two days later, they went public—not just paparazzi'd—with their budding romance, appearing together at an L.A. fundraiser for Barack Obama and apparently going strong ever since.
It's unclear exactly how or when the twosome first struck up a relationship, though E! Online TV columnist Kristin Veitch reports that Young is good friends with Walsh's boss, ABC president Steve McPherson.
It'll be the first marriage for Walsh, who, as recently as mid-March, was spotted making the social rounds with Brothers & Sisters star Dave Annable.
While a date has not yet been decided, some have surely been ruled out. Walsh is set to start filming Private Practice, which will serve as ABC's Wednesday night anchor this fall, in Los Angeles this July.
In the meantime, Walsh isn't the only Grey's Anatomy star to be struck by Cupid's arrow. In the past year alone, Katherine Heigl and Ellen Pompeo each announced engagements to their respective beaus.
