Kate Hudson a Mommy!

Just call her Granny Goldie Hawn. As inconceivable as that might sound, the perfectly preserved thesp became a grandmother today as daughter Kate Hudson delivered her first child.

Hudson and hubby Chris Robinson welcomed their baby boy into the world Wednesday morning in Los Angeles, Hudson's publicist confirmed. Ryder Russell Robinson, whose name gives a nod to stepdad Kurt Russell, weighed in at 8 pounds, 11 ounces.

The young actress and her rocker man wed in a New Year's Eve ceremony ushering in 2001. They announced the pregnancy last June.

Hudson got her big break--and proved she wasn't riding Hawn's coattails--with an Oscar-nominated role as a jaded groupie in 2000's Almost Famous. She released three movies in 2003. There was the less critically acclaimed but still commercially viable How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Alex and Emma and Le Divorce.

She managed to squeeze in one more movie before her belly reached Buddha-like proportions last year. She'll star in Raising Helen, a romantic comedy that hits theaters Sept. 17. As for her next flick, a thriller titled Skeleton Keys, Universal reportedly planned a delay in production to give the new mommy a brief maternity leave. Originally scheduled to start last September, shooting is now slated to begin in March or April, according to Variety.

But don't expect Robinson to become a stay-at-home dad. The musician's datebook may soon rival his wife's busy schedule. He's reportedly joining up with Robert and Dean DeLeo and Eric Kretz of the Stone Temple Pilots and possibly some former member of Guns N' Roses to form a new supergroup, per the New York Post.
