Amid rumors that a second sexual battery suit against the actor could be headed to mediation, the plaintiff's lawyer, Okorie Okorocha, tells E! News exclusively that the case won't go to settlement court.
"Mediation means settlement," Okorocha says. "There will never be a settlement because [Travolta attorney Marty] Singer [is] asking for a trial and wants to sue me."
So what does this mean for both the embattled actor and the second anonymous John Doe who's lobbed allegations of sexual assault against Travolta?
"There is no mediation," Okorocha explains. "We know it will be a full trial with a private judge and court reporter. That's why I filed Doe complaints. I want privacy for sex-crime victims."
Okorocha tells E! News that he has asked Singer for a full trial, and the two have had discussions.
Okorocha says Singer is "just listening at this point" but hasn't indicated which way he will go, and that Singer is ready to "fight to the death" against the suits.
The Wild Hogs star was hit with a second sexual-battery claim last week by an unidentified masseur who alleges that Travolta exposed and touched himself while being given an in-room massage at an Atlanta hotel.
The suit came a day after another anonymous masseur sued the star for sexual battery, claiming that the Travolta touched his scrotum and penis after stripping in front of the masseur.
Singer has slammed both lawsuits, telling E! News last week that "this second 'anonymous' claim is just as absurd and ridiculous as the first one" and that "our client will be fully vindicated in court on both of these absurd and fictional claims."
Both of the anonymous masseurs were repped by Okorocha, but in a surprising twist, John Doe No. 1 was dropped by Okorocha late last week after his client admitted that he misstated the date of the alleged attack.
