The drought is nearly over.

A couple weeks back, John Mayer teased fans with a 60-second snippet of his forthcoming single, "Shadow Man," his first piece of new music since undergoing surgery last fall.

And now we get our second gift from the Grammy winner: a (finally!) release date for his album, Born and Raised. It's a Leap Day miracle!

So when do we get to hear the rest of his single? And when oh when is the album due out?

Pencil both in under "soon."

Columbia Records today confirmed that the 12-track Born and Raised will be released on May 22 and that the first single from the album is heading to a radio near you on March 6.

And they're pulling out all the stops for Mayer's long-heralded return. The singer will also be hitting the road for an 18-date spring tour that kicks off April 9 in Bloomington, Ind., and wraps April 29 in New Orleans.

Welcome back, John.
