J.Lo + Invitation = Engagement Party?
Either way, we're sure of this much: There was a diamond ring, an invitation with the words "Jennifer Lopez," "Cris Judd" and "engagement party." And there was an exact time and location--Saturday night at Morton's.
As expected, Lopez and her dancer-choreographer boyfriend (or make that fiancé) did make their scheduled appearance Saturday at the posh Melrose Avenue restaurant.
So does that mean she's officially engaged? "No comment," her publicist's office replied Monday.
Despite the zipped lips from Lopez's camp, all signs seem to point down the aisle. Word of Lopez's engagement party was first leaked by the National Enquirer, which obtained a copy of the invite stating that "Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd have announced their engagement. Let's all celebrate with dinner and dancing." The party was said to be hosted by her agents at ICM.
Entertainment Tonight reports that about 140 guests attended Saturday's party, including photographer Herb Ritts, actress Kim Delaney and A.I. star Jude Law. Vince Vaughn, Lopez's costar in The Cell, stepped outside the restaurant to pose for cameras. And when asked how Lopez looked, Vaughn replied, "Beautiful as always."
With the press waiting outside, Lopez and Judd arrived at the restaurant from an alleyway. As the party wrapped up around 2 a.m., the twosome waved to fans before slipping into a departing limo.
Lopez, 31, and Judd, 32, have purportedly been engaged since June, when the New York Post reported Judd popped the question during a weekend barbecue in Los Angeles. Since then, Lopez's publicist has issued a blanket "no comment" about any questions involving her personal life.
A month later, Lopez performed on NBC's Today show sporting a diamond ring. But when asked by Matt Lauer if she was engaged, she coyly responded, "I guess you'll have to wait and see."
This would be Lopez's second round of nuptials. The Bronx-born actress-turned-pop star married Cuban waiter Ojani Noa in 1997, but they divorced a year later. J.Lo's latest go at marriage (allegedly) comes not long after her split with longtime Bad Boy Entertainment beau, Sean "P.Diddy" Combs. After two very public years together, the twosome formally announced their split in February.
