The talk-show host revealed that he and his missus used a surrogate to welcome their first child.
On the Today show Friday, Savannah Guthrie provided a sneak peek at her full interview with Fallon, which is set to air on the morning show next week.
In it, the new father opens up about the steps he and his wife took to expand their family.
"It wasn't really a secret, but my wife and I have been trying for a while to have a baby," he said. "And so we've tried a bunch of things. And so we had a surrogate."
The couple also wanted to keep things on the DL.
"This time, we just said we're not telling anybody," he added. "It'd just be more fun if it was just private between me and my wife, and we get to introduce her to everybody. When it happened, we were shocked!"

Winnie is the first child for Fallon, 38, and Juvonen, 46, who tied the knot in 2007 after meeting through mutual pal Drew Barrymore.
Two days after Winnie was born, Fallon introduced his daughter to the world via a precious snapshot on Instagram that showed the tot wearing an adorble pink-and-blue knitted bonnet with a large bow.
There has certainly been no shortage of gifts for the wee one.
When Jennifer Aniston guested on Late Night last week, she brought Fallon a cute (and appropriate!) Winnie the Pooh doll for his little bundle of joy.
Of course, the quick-witted funnyman couldn't risk squeezing in a punchy quip.
"She's about the size of this," he cracked as he held the cuddleworthy plush toy.
