Jennifer Lopez's Shutterbug Scare
Just a month after releasing Rebirth, Jennifer Lopez has apparently had a near brush with death.
The multihyphenate diva claims she came close to being involved in a car crash due to a run-in with overly aggressive paparazzi at a traffic light in Beverly Hills.
Lopez said her driver was making a left at an intersection when another car screeched in front of her vehicle, giving her "goose pimples."
"It was the paparazzi trying to beat the light on the same turn with us," she told AP Radio.
Lopez, who was in town promoting her upcoming film, Monster-in-Law, costarring Jane Fonda, said she hadn't even released that she was being followed.
"I didn't realize we were being pursued because I try to block this stuff out. It's the only way to live," Lopez said. "You don't want to think about being stalked all the time.
"They feel like it's a game, like they're playing cops and robbers and they're spies. It's crazy."
Lopez said that she rarely complains about such hardships because she recognizes that the general public tends to have little sympathy for the mishaps that befall celebrities on account of their fame.
"Nobody likes to hear somebody in the public eye who they feel makes a lot of money complain, so we don't, but it is a very strange thing," Lopez told AP Radio.
Apart from the release of her latest album and her upcoming star turn in Monster-in-Law, which opens next month, Lopez debuted her high-end fashion line, Sweetface, during New York's Fashion Week in February, with a runway show that cost more than $2 million to put on.
Up ahead, she'll star in the World War II period picture American Darlings alongside Nicole Kidman.
Lopez has also made no secret of the fact that she would like to have a baby in the near future with third husband, Marc Anthony, whom she wed last June.
"One healthy baby would be enough for me," Lopez told People magazine in February.
In the meantime, Lopez serves as stepmom to Anthony's three children from previous relationships.
