Jeff Goldblum Engaged

The Fly guy has a new gal.

After a whirlwind romance, Jeff Goldblum has gotten engaged to Canadian stage actress Catherine Wreford, his rep confirmed on Thursday.

In fact, the future Mrs. Golblum, who hails from Manitoba, Canada, has left the national touring production of the Broadway musical 42nd Street to be with her beau in Los Angeles.

A wedding date was not announced.

The happy couple met two months ago at Washington's Sea-Tac airport, when a mutual friend introduced them while Goldblum was putting his shoes back on after undergoing a security check, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

It will be the third walk down the aisle for Goldblum, 50, who appears to have a thing for fellow thesps. The Big Chill star was previously hitched to Road Trip's Patricia Gaul (1980-86) and his Fly costar Geena Davis (1987-90). Both those marriages ended in divorce. He was also engaged to his Jurassic Park costar Laura Dern before that relationship went kaput in 1997.

No word on Wreford's marital history.

Of his first marriage (Goldblum and Gaul impulsively shacked up together after just three weeks in 1975), Goldblum once told People magazine, "We had a lot of fun." No hard feelings on Gaul's part either, as she told the entertainment mag, "Jeff makes a joke out of everything."

The Apple computer pitchman wed his second missus, Davis, in Las Vegas after the two starred opposite each other in David Cronenberg's 1986 remake of The Fly. "We're both independent types, unconventional and free-spirited," the actor told People, adding, "I think we were lucky to get together, and we both had a great time."

Also on the upcoming agenda for the marriage-minded actor is a starring role in the indie satire Spinning Boris about a campaign to reelect Russian leader Boris Yeltsin. The film costars Anthony LaPaglia and Liev Schreiber. Goldblum will then segue to Wes Andersons' laffer The Life Aquatic about an oceanographer played by Bill Murray. Goldblum's also rumored to be on board for the dino franchise Jurassic Park IV, slated for a summer 2005 release.
