Idol Reject Clark Busted Again

The hits keep coming for Corey Clark. Unfortunately, none of them is music related.

The infamous American Idol reject, who made headlines in 2005 after alleging he carried on an affair with judge Paula Abdul, was arrested in Arkansas early Monday on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and for having an outstanding warrant issued in his name.

Officers were called to a residential section of North Little Rock at 2:45 a.m. after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle spotted idling in the area. When cops approached the vehicle, Clark emerged from the passenger side of the car. It's unclear whether the drugs and paraphernalia were found on Clark's person or in the vehicle.

Sgt. Terry Kuykendall of the North Little Rock Police Department said that officers ran Clark's name through the Arkansas Crime Information Center database. The search revealed an outstanding warrant from Arizona, stemming from an arrest last year for misdemeanor charges of violating a restraining order and trespassing, as well as felony charges for aggravated harassment and failure to comply with court orders.

A bond of $25,000 was set for Clark's most recent indiscretion. He is currently being held in the Pulaski County jail pending a court appearance later Tuesday.

According to Arkansas' Morning News, the local police have already contacted authorities in Arizona and have agreed to hold Clark in custody for up to 15 days, while he awaits extradition back to Arizona to face his outstanding warrant.

On July 24, 2006, Clark was arrested by the county sheriff in Yuma, Arizona, for allegedly trespassing on his father-in-law's residence and for violating a restraining order taken out by Clark's estranged wife, who was staying there. Clark spent 55 hours in lockup and was later charged with being in contempt of court.

Between December and January, Clark racked up several more felony charges after making a series of unsolicited phone calls to his wife's family. Despite receiving summons to appear in court to face the charges, he failed to show for his February arraignment and two warrants were issued for his arrest.

Trouble and Clark are well acquainted.

In 2003, while a finalist on American Idol's second season, he was booted off after producers discovered he had withheld information about a prior arrest. Two years later, in 2005, he claimed to have carried on an affair with Abdul while still a contestant. Abdul adamantly denied the allegations.
