Show Bits: Mad Style Dash

Day Three: Lisa Rinna puckers her signature lips for roving photogs while girls walk around with small plasma TVs stuck to their chests like bras—turns out they're Playtex models promoting form-fitting lingerie. Sure beats a billboard!
I head into the main tent for Max Azria's show. Beauties like Molly Sims, Carrie Underwood, Ciara and Mya line the front row, smiling for what seems like an endless stream of snapshots. Nicole Richie wisely waits until the last minute to slip into her seat—saving her from a pack of scoop-seeking journalists.
After Azria's weightless dresses float down the runway (for more on the show go to mysyle.com), I have five minutes to book it to the Promenade venue for the J. Mendel show. Luckily, it's adjacent to the main tent. In fact, Vogue editrix Anna Wintour is already seated when I arrive. (How'd her stilettos clatter over so fast? The woman truly is a pro!)

Mary J Blige, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Leann Rimes plop down next to fashion designers and stylists like Rachel Zoe. Nicole's former dresser has tied her wavy locks into a braided headband—could she have possibly read my article on the pleated trend?
Designer Gilles Mendel shows a beautiful array of intricately designed dresses, form-fitting pants and trench coats. I wish I could snag something to wear to tonight's VIP dinner at Buddakan, but no such luck.
I dash back to the hotel to throw on one of my cocktail dresses. Whew! I never realized Fashion Week was gonna involve so much running around—no wonder everyone's so skinny!
