Hurley Hears Wedding Bells
Just a week after publicly denying there were wedding bells in her future, Elizabeth Hurley has come clean about her betrothed status, confirming the rampant British media reports that she's set to wed her Indian entrepreneur boyfriend of nearly four years, Arun Nayar.
The 41-year-old dished about her impending missus status to the Italian edition of Vanity Fair.
"I cannot reveal to you the exact date but it is very close," she told the magazine. "We are even thinking of having a child."
It'll be the first trip down the aisle for Hurley and the second for the 41-year-old Nayar, who was previously married to Valentina Pedroni.
The camera-ready couple first started dating in December 2002, just weeks after Nayar separated from his Italian wife. The divorce proceedings--and costly countersuits--took nearly three years to resolve and the split was not made official until late last year.
Hurley told the magazine that she felt like she had been "struck by a lightning bolt" when she first met Nayar.
"We were introduced through friends," she told the magazine. "He had just separated and I was just getting over my pregnancy."
She said they met when the tycoon was passing through London: "They introduced us--we hit it off straight away."
Just as important, Hurley said he hit if off with her four-year-old son, Damian.
The newest face--or rather, bum--of Jordache Jeans had the child from a previous relationship with real-estate scion/Hollywood playboy Steve Bing. (He infamously denied being the father of the child and demanded Hurley prove his paternity. She did; he tried to throw some money at the situation; she refused.)
"Damian adores Arun, they have a great relationship," said Hurley.
"When I was on a photoshoot recently Arun and Damian went to Saint-Tropez on their first holiday together without me. They were on a mission to look at all the women in bikinis and make notes for market research," she told the mag, referring to her new swimwear line.
Hurley remained mum on the details of the upcoming vow swap, though the confirmation, vague as it may be, brings credence to the marital media reports that surfaced last month and that were almost immediately blasted by the former Estée Lauder spokesmodel.
Last week, the British press reported that Hurley and Nayar were planning on tying the knot in September in the English countryside, further pinpointing the venue as the Barnsley House in Gloucestershire, a luxury 17th century rural home just a few miles away from the model's estate.
At the time, the couple was also rumored to be planning a second ceremony in Nayar's native India.
"It's not true, it's all fiction, fiction," she said just eight days ago. "I'm in the country at the moment and I have about 50 helicopters circling overhead, but all I've done is feed the chickens and water the flowers."
While Hurley has never officially made the trip down the aisle, she's no stranger to commitment: Hurley dated Hugh Grant for nearly 13 years.
As for how she thinks marriage might suit her, "I'll let you know when I get married," she said. "I was with Hugh for 13 years and we were like husband and wife so I don't think there will be any great difference."
The supermodel also spoke out about her former beau's infamous 1995 run-in with the prostitute Divine Brown.
"Look, in general I am not very tolerant," she told the magazine. "My friends call me 'The Hanging Judge,' but with Hugh it was different. If you truly love someone then you forgive them and that's it--and I really loved him. Even now even though we hardly see each other I still like him enormously."
