"Housewives" Desperate for NBA
Nicollette Sheridan's talking up jocks again.
One month after she gave rise to controversy by dropping a towel on Monday Night Football, Sheridan and her Desperate Housewives costars taped a promo this week for the National Basketball Association.
The spot was "so very nothing," a source said, meaning no terry cloth was doffed and presumably no skin bared.
All of the hit ABC show's lead actresses--Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria and Sheridan--were believed to have participated in the NBA-produced promo.
The spot, featuring the stars proclaiming why they love basketball, may debut during ABC's inaugural NBA broadcast of the season, scheduled for Christmas Day.
Other ABC personalities, including cast members from Hope & Faith and The View's Star Jones Reynolds, taped similar promos, a source said.
Last month, the Federal Communications Commission received about 50,000 comments about Sheridan's cameo on the Nov. 15 Monday Night Football.
In the ABC Sports bit, which opened the broadcast, a towel-clad Sheridan, assuming her Desperate alter-ego, coaxed Philadelphia Eagles star Terrell Owens to stay in the locker room by shedding her bath wear.
In the aftermath, ABC Sports apologized, Owens sort-of apologized and the National Football League fumed.
As for Sheridan? She earned a Golden Globe nomination--and apparently switched her allegiances to basketball.
