The new mommy was hit with a lawsuit today accusing Duff of crashing her Range Rover into another car in 2010 and causing serious injuries to the other driver.
According to court documents obtained by E! News, Rachel Owens alleges that the incident, which occurred on December 12, 2010, resulted in Owens getting "hurt and injured in her health, strength and activity, sustaining injury to her nervous system."
Owens also claims that the injuries stop her from completing her job requirements (she didn't specify what she does), saying it "prevented from attending her usual occupation for a period of time in the future."
And that wasn't the end of Duff's bad news.
The actor was recently snapped with a cigarette in hand, but took to Twitter to clear up the situation.
"Yikes me holding a cigarette for my friend might have been a bad idea! pretty bummed about the photo.. Sorry guys, looks worst than it is!"
